The Florence Freedom are partnering with B45, the leader in the manufacturing of baseball bats and equipment, for the second consecutive year.
“We’re excited to bring a quality wood bat to the Freedom for another season,” said Cameron Monger, the Freedom’s B45 representative who will begin his seventh season in professional baseball in 2016. “Seeing an independent team like the Freedom go with a higher quality bat for their players explains how much they care about the team here.
“In our second year, we are looking forward to expanding a little bit, including sponsoring the Frontier League Pre-Am Home Run Derby Championship trophy,” he continued. “I’m excited to continue to develop the partnership.”
Known for its absolute quality, customer satisfaction, and refinement and sophistication, B45 earned praise from the Freedom’s Hitting Coach AJ Cicconi and Manager Dennis Pelfrey.
“Last year was my first encounter with birch wood and I was really impressed with its quality,” Cicconi said. “I can tell from our broken bat rate that it is a solid piece of wood. It’s also the first piece of wood I’ve seen that gets better the more you use it. Most wood bats start to separate the more you hit with it, but the birch gets harder. They played well for us last year, so we are excited to have B45 back.”
“By the end of the season last year, the entire team was on the B45 train,” Pelfrey said. “I think the most important thing is how the guys feel with the bat in their hands. The fact that everyone wanted a B45 bat in his hand at the end of the season, when we want the biggest hits and the best at bats to help us chase a ring, is a testament to what B45 does and the product they provide.”The Florence Freedom are members of the 12-team professional Independent Frontier League and play a 96 game schedule, with 48 home games at UC Health Stadium, located at 7950 Freedom Way in Florence, Kentucky. In 2015, the Frontier League recognized the Freedom as the league’s organization of the year and awarded the team with the league’s All-Star event. The 2016 season will mark the 13th year the Freedom have played in Florence.
